Som musikälskare och radiot kändes det självklart att bege sig de fem milen till residensstaden Växjö och Stortorget – denna vecka omdöpt till Kärlekens torg – där Musikhjälpen sänts.
Att detta är en högtid präglad av omtanke, givmildhet och gemenskap har verkligen lyst igenom under insamlingsveckan. Varenda krona räknas och det blev närmare 60 miljoner till människor i hungersnöd. Snacka om engagemang! Lite kul att den bössa som samlade in mest pengar var katten Luffar-Lasses.
För fem år sen startade jag en egen bössa tillsammans med pingisklubben IF Ale och O’Leary’s i Ystad: Pingis för Musikhjälpen. Det blev drygt 5000 till förmån för personer med funktionsvariationer. En som gjorde en stark insats för den insamlingen är Joachim Folsing. Han ringde mig och undrade om vi skulle göra om det nästa år. Självklart!, sa jag.
Har jag lovat för mycket nu igen? Är jag för snäll? Både Pippi och Bamse är ju inne på att den som är stark måste vara snäll. Fast jag är ju inte i närheten lika stark som dom…
Tänker ibland att det är dags att tänka mer på mig själv, rentav bli lite cynisk. Å andra sidan; har vi inte nog av egoism och cynism i världen…
Det finns forskning som visar av att vi blir lyckliga av att ge till och hjälpa andra. Och vad du får är vad du ger. Alltid skönt att få uppskattning för det man givit under året. Tänker i det här fallet på det jobb jag utfört. Parelle Cosmetics i Ystad bjöd på en delikat ostprovning och fredagen efter njöt jag av en god middag på IKEA värdshus som Posten stod för. Tyvärr kunde jag inte närvara när Radio Active bjöd sina medarbetare på julbord, men tack ändå! Som egenföretagare bjuder jag mig själv på övernattning och spa på Kosta Boda Art hotell.
Nej, jag lider verkligen ingen nöd. Tak över huvudet, eld i spisen och garanterat mat på bordet varje dag. Till skillnad från miljoner andra på jorden. Bara att hoppas att pengarna från Musikhjälpen kan göra någon skillnad.
